"I’m tearful now as I look upon the future, my revived and humble fate.
I remember now that I was destined not to destroy, but to create!"
(We Are the Dawn, Grayson Sebert, 2025)
An Artist of Many Trades
Hello, and welcome! My name is Grayson Sebert and, as the title states, I am indeed an artist of many trades. Now, I won't go on some huge rant as to why the arts is important to me (I don't want to bore you), but what I do want to say is that the arts is, without a doubt, important. Art is connection. Art is human. Art is beautiful, as much as it is devastating. But, altogether, it is cathartic, marvelous, and necessary. And, I think we can all benefit from that which is art, in its many moods and forms. As for me, I'm on a mission to make art. At the end of the day, if I can have the opportunity to transcend, entertain, transform, or even lift up just one person in any way, I will have been fulfilled. Thank you for coming on this venture with me, and I am eternally indebted to all those who support me, my vision, and my life journey. You are more recognized than you may realize.
Below you will find some fun, zany, and maybe just-plain-weird facts about me. Enjoy and thanks again for sticking around!
Fun Facts, Quirks, Musings, and So On
I LOVE tarantulas. They are so cool to me and I want to own one someday. I'd name him Bubbles, unironically.
Of the 10+ countries I have travelled to, I have taught English to elementary students in two of them-- China (Weihai, Shandong) and Costa Rica (La Palma). Teaching is another passion of mine. What better way to connect with aspiring youth than to be a positive mentor for them?
I have travelled to over 10 countries. And yes, all of them are equally my favorite.
I have eaten cicadas before. Besides the strange crunch of the exoskeleton, they're actually not half bad.
Lady Gaga is one of my all-time favorite inspirations. That woman is so incredible, motivational, and is a true artist if I've ever seen one!
Some more of my favorite inspirations are: Sierra Boggess, Jessica Vosk, Benedict Cumberbatch, and my high school choir and band teachers-- you guys will never know how much you have positively impacted me (and aided in making my love for art even more insane-- thank you!)
I am currently attending the Los Angeles Film School, studying Screenwriting. I will also be attending the Stella Adler Studio of Acting this upcoming year, 2026. Two words to describe how I feel being given the opportunity to attend both of these amazing programs is: utterly grateful.
I have a cat named Noodles and another named Ramen. Yes, that's right-- Ramen Noodles. No, I will not elaborate further.
I can only snap with my pinky fingers-- no other finger, on either hand. Weird, right?!
I identify as non-binary and consider myself bigender. The LGBTQ+ community is near and dear to me and I will always support and uplift those who choose to live authentically, freely, and gorgeously, despite the greater world being afraid to understand and empathize. Who knows-- maybe we can have the power to change that. Y'all ROCK!
I live with a condition known as Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. What this means is I have split myself into "facets" of my full personality and sometimes live as "other" people, each with their own name and mannerisms; I view this as a coping skill related to certain past events. Though this condition can be somewhat debilitating, rather than view it as a disorder, I've chosen to view it as a circumstance that I navigate, hopefully with grace, resilience, and a little bit of laughter, most definitely. I am a strong advocate for mental health and think it's abundantly important that we recognize people not for the "dangers" they might possess, but for the beauty and individuality that exists beneath the surface. Let's lift each other up. And we must remember that we are all living the human experience. No better reason than that to be kind!
One of my least favorite foods is sour cream. Don't come for me; I'm not changing my mind.
I currently have 112 poems under my belt, and I can't wait to share them with the world!
